Excited to report Bethesda Emedia Marketing’s Email Knowledge System was given as an example of a good bit of Wisdom learned in 2009. The latest issue of Marketing Wisdom for 2010 has our contribution on pages 28 and 29!
Our article discussed how all too often many campaigns have lots of creative cooks. The changes keep coming and when the final version is sent it is sometimes hard to figure out what actually went in the transmission.
Email Knowledge System (sm) solves this with it’s project management approach. The vault is there when you need it, next week, 3 months from now, or a year from now, or longer. And it is easy to see who made that change as well.
The Email Knowledge System is included free with your Bethesda Emedia Marketing eMail transmission account. Contact David James, djames@BethesdaEmediaMarketing.com for more details.

Almost 500 association executives and vendors dined at Washington’s Capital Hilton (the one near the White House). The air was certainly more festive than last year when “worried” was the look on most everyone’s face.
Besides the salute, Association Trends saluted the Young Association Executives (those under 40) who show promise and they honored the Best of Association Communications winners – the fields have grown over the years to include: Annual Reports, Websites, eNewsletters as well as traditional postal promotions for meetings, books, conferences and whatnot.
This was the first Salute luncheon since Columbia Books & Information Service (the list owners of Association Executives from Columbia Books and Lobbyists from Columbia Books) acquired Association Trends. Kudos to Jill Cornish and the Columbia Books team.

Bethesda Emedia Marketing is going to launch an Enewsletter…. BEM’s Marketing Tips… the in-house design team did the layout and design. I think this may be the best Enewsletter design we have done in quite awhile. Kudos HH and the team.
Keep your eyes peeled.

We are snowed in at Bethesda!! However, the show must go on! Here are are some social media tips for the day.
There are so many different channels of social media now! Google recently jumped onto the bandwagon with their “Buzz” feature. If you haven’t taken a look at it, you’ll find that they are coming on strong with features reminiscent of Facebook. Speaking of Facebook! They recently changed their interface again. Google and Facebook are definitely battling it out. However, I digress. I’m supposed to impart upon you some tips for the day.
You have all these social media channels? What to do? You want to have a face on the more popular ones. That means managing multiple accounts. What a pain!
1. Make them come to you. Pick a primary channel and funnel all notification to you in one place. This can all go into an email. If it gets too crazy, you can tweak it to a lower volume so you don’t get overwhelmed.
2. You can also manage multiple services through tools like TweetDeck or FriendFeed. Most of these tools will also let you broadcast to multiple services.
3. Make sure to separate personal social media from business social media. Need I go on about why?

Thinking of launching your own PR or social media compaign? Not to fear! There are many new tools to use that will allow you to create the exposure, and delivery, you want that will be within you budget.
Tools
PitchEngine, a source of 300,000 journalists and bloggers, is a growing hub for content, multimedia, and social media. PitchEngine allows you to find your content, share it through social media channels, and to marry the idea of multimedia with relevant content.
Dro.io’s Presslift promotes media distribution. This tool allows PR professionals to include multimedia with their press releases. This is significant, considering that most journalists agree that access to multimedia is important, but only a few press releases are able to effectively include them. Presslift makes it easier to share related multimedia by making it flexible and easy to use through other channels (Facebook and Twitter).
Before you decide to launch your PR and social media campaign on your own, take a look at these marketing PR tools to get yourself out there.

The Association Executives from Columbia Books List from Bethesda List Center reaches association executives from Columbia Books’ publications: National Trade and Professional Associations of the United States and State and Regional Associations. Research is conducted year round and the books are updated monthly.
The executives you will find here are executives of associations, trade grops, professional societies, and large national groups such as AARP. The staffs are generally small, ranging from 1-10 employees. Most of these groups are located in Washington, DC, and the Chicago area, but many are spread across the country at state and local levels.
This list can be targeted by selections in job title, budget range, staff size, membership size, year founded, business type, gender, and geographically across the United States.
